Game Review
In a highly anticipated Premier League clash at Old Trafford, Manchester United secured a 2-0 victory over their city rivals Manchester City. This result was somewhat unexpected given City's strong form leading into the match, but United's tactical discipline and clinical finishing proved decisive. The game remained goalless until the 65th minute when Bryan Mbeumo (GAP +3.5%) broke the deadlock for Manchester United. His goal was a testament to United's growing confidence as they capitalized on a rare defensive lapse by City. Just 11 minutes later, Patrick Dorgu (GAP -2.1%) doubled the lead, sealing the victory for the home side. Dorgu's performance was particularly noteworthy given his negative GAP, highlighting his impact despite statistical expectations. Manchester United's manager made four changes to the lineup, bringing in Harry Maguire, Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, and Kobbie Mainoo, while Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Šeško, Manuel Ugarte, and Ayden Heaven were left out. These changes were likely influenced by a mix of tactical adjustments and managing player fitness, as United looked to freshen up their squad. On the other hand, Manchester City made three changes, with Rodri (GAP +4.8%), Antoine Semenyo (GAP +1.8%), and Rico Lewis (GAP +2.3%) coming into the starting eleven. These adjustments were part of a strategic rotation by the City head coach, aiming to maintain their high-intensity style of play. Key performances from players like Gianluigi Donnarumma (GAP +4.5%) and Phil Foden (GAP +4.5%) were not enough to turn the tide for City, as they struggled to break down a resolute United defense marshaled by Lisandro Martínez (GAP +2.2%) and Harry Maguire (GAP +0.9%). This victory propels Manchester United further up the league table, boosting their confidence as they aim to solidify their position in the top four. For Manchester City, this defeat is a setback in their title challenge, but with their squad depth and quality, they remain strong contenders as the season progresses.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
